DSAT ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF CHRIS SWIFT AS PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD

Down Syndrome Association of Tulsa (DSAT) is a non-profit organization that exists to enhance the lives of individuals with Down syndrome, their families and their communities. Today DSAT announced the appointment of Chris Swift as President of the Board. Swift, who joined the DSAT board in 2017, succeeds Garrett Lee, who has been a part of the organization since 2015, joined the board in 2017, and has served as President since 2019.

“It has been my great pleasure to serve with many great board and committee members for all these years, and to work with such a capable and committed Executive Director in Katy Hough,” said Garrett Lee. “My family and I look forward to continuing to be part of this wonderful organization. Thank you to all the families for the support and for the encouragement and assistance as we led this organization through a pandemic.”

Chris Swift has been actively involved with DSAT since 2017. His involvement began with his engagement at the new parent breakfasts after his daughter, Lindie, was born. Swift quickly became involved with overseeing the annual calendar fundraiser, alongside photographer Jenny White. The annual calendars showcase Tulsa’s beautiful kiddos with Down syndrome which are available on their website for purchase: https://dsat.org/DSAT_Calendar. Swift joined the Board of Directors in 2017, and has served as Vice President since 2019.

“It’s been a joy to serve as Vice President over the past couple of years. I get excited to think about where we can go in the next couple of years and to dive in even more as DSAT president. I’d like to see us continue to build on our community, structure, communication, programs, family resources, and advocacy. It’s very important for me to support our Executive Director in her role, to find out what the most important needs are of our families, and to lean on the gifts of our board members and parents to see how we can best serve our loved ones with Down syndrome for years to come.” states DSAT President Chris Swift.
