The Buddy Walk is a multi-city advocacy event in which individuals with Down syndrome invite "buddies" to walk with them. Buddies can include family, friends, teachers, co-workers and even your local politicians. This family friendly event is designed to raise awareness and funds to continue to support programming for the Down Syndrome Association of Tulsa. 93% of all money raised stays in our local community and is used to provide scholarships for families and self-advocates to attend the National Down Syndrome Congress Convention, to provide new parent packets to doctors and hospitals, provide new education and inclusion programs and to support families and individuals with Down syndrome. The remaining 7% is used on the national level to support advocacy initiatives.
