We have so many exciting things happening with DSAT!! We are moving into our new DSAT Office on April 1st. It is located at 1831 E 71st Street, Suite 239, just off 71st between Riverside and Lewis. This is going to help DSAT grow and be able to provide so many more opportunities for our families. Trivia Night at Joe Momma's- Thursday, March 27th


At Joe Momma's (112 S Elgin Ave) on the 27th from 8-10pmDSAT will receive 5% of all sales. The trivia starts at 9:00pm but is advised to get there by 8:00pmfor a table.  You do not have to be a DSAT parent to participate. Trivia Nights are very popular among work groups, college friends and neighbors. Tell your friends and family and join us for a fun evening.



Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma Conference- March 29th


The group in Oklahoma City is hosting their annual  Down Syndrome Conference on the 29th and has a variety of very informative workshops for all ages.  For more information, visit

Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by Guts Church- April 19th


Guts church is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for kids with special needs.  This hunt will be first then they will have an additional hunt for siblings.  More information about this hunt will be posted on our DSAT Facebook page or you can contact Guts Church. Note: this is not affiliated with DSAT. We are providing information as a service to our members.  

DSAT Spring Picnic at the Owasso YMCA-Saturday April 26th

Our annual picnic will be held at the OWASSO YMCA- Saturday, April 26th from 6:30-8:30pm.  We have the entire facility just for DSAT including the gym and the indoor swimming pool.  Be sure to bring your swimsuit and towel and tennis shoes.  We will be providing dinner.  We will have a registration for this event  closer to the date. 
 (due to Spring Break & church availability during Holy Week)

Kathy is a member of DSAT and has a beautiful daughter, Tessa.  Kathy is an early childhood specialist with over 15 years experience teaching students in Pre-K through 2nd grade.  Kathy holds a BSED in Early Childhood Education and a MSED in Special Education. Kathy demonstrates how to differentiate instruction for all learners and keep students engaged through music, technology, and hands on learning. She is the author of the CD "Growing Dendrites with Kathy Griffin"  along with many multimedia files, games and songs. Kathy presents at conferences all across the country and you can read her very informative blog here.


Special Olympics Summer Games in Stillwater- May 14th-May17th

There will be events for Special Olympians, Stars of the Future and younger children. This is a huge state-wide event that needs several volunteers. Contact for more information on how to get involved.

We will host our annual fishing day at Bass Pro from 9-12 on Saturday, June 7thDSAT will provide the bait, you bring your poles! We will provide a lunch.  We will send out registration closer to this event.
T21 GOLF TOURNAMENT- June 16th, Meadowbrook Country Club 

The 4th Annual T21 Golf Tournament will be June 16th at Meadowbrook Country Club. We will have an 18-hole tournament, silent auction, golf prizes, lunch, a golf clinic & swimming for DSAT Families.

We will have our annual baseball outing on Sunday, June 29th at the 2:05pm Drillers game.  Registration for this event will be sent out closer to the date. 
National Down Syndrome Congress Convention- July 11-13 in Indianapolis

Registration is now open for the National Convention!  Hotels room fill up VERY QUICKLY so make sure and reservations soon.  They are already filling up.  For more information about the conference go to here

Sunday, April 6th- Social Committee- if you are interested in helping plan social events this is the committee for you.   We are also going to get our playgroups and young adult groups up and going strong.

Tuesday, April 8th- New Parent Committee- This group will help with the ongoing job of creating new parent packets, following up to new parents and helping host new parent get togethers.  This is not visiting new families because special training is required for this visitation.

Tuesday, April 15th- Calendar Committee- we have big and small jobs available. 

Tuesday, April 22nd- Newsletter Committee- DSAT is going to form a printed newsletter to be sent out quarterly.  We are needing people to help us with this new project.  We are needing people to research and gather information that will be beneficial to our members and also people to help format the information as well. 

Snack Committee- This is a way you can help out DSAT is a huge way but attend no committee meetings.  We will provide you with a gift card to purchase the snacks for the meetings.  Please email Erin if you are interested in helping out with this on occasion.

Lending Library Committee- This committee will not have actual meetings but will help us grow our library buy helping purchase books and organize our library within our office when needed. We are wanting to get all of our books on an electronic check out system.  If you would be available to help with this, please let us know.
