The Buddy Walk is a multi-city advocacy walk in which people with Down syndrome invite "buddies" to walk with them. Buddies can be anyone from friends to teachers or coworkers to politicians. goal of the Buddy Walk is to celebrate October, National Down Syndrome Awareness month, and promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome .
The Buddy Walk includes entertainment, prize give-aways, food and fun activities for the whole family. The Buddy Walk raised more than $35,000 in 2007 to provide support and services for local families. More than 225,000 people participate nationally each year and more than 1,500 people are expected to participate in the Tulsa Buddy Walk this year.
When & Where: Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the track at Union High School in Tulsa located at 6636 South Mingo Road, Tulsa, 74133. The track is located to the west of the high school.

Pledges and Donations: All individuals are encouraged to register and obtain pledges. However, it is not required to attend the Buddy Walk. Walkers can create a web page at www.firstgiving.com/dsat where you can invite friends and family to sponsor you or your "buddy."
